Twellman Nets Goal of the Week

Taylor Twellman scored the MLS Goal of the Week last Sunday.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Revolution forward Taylor Twellman earned MLS Sierra Mist Goal of the Week honors for his spectacular volley against D.C. United in the Revs' 4-2 loss Sunday.

In the 45th minute, Khano Smith served a ball in from the left endline and found the Revs' leading scorer in the penalty area. Twellman, took the ball down with his chest, created space to run and connected with the ball on the hop to blast a 15-yard shot past United goalkeeper Troy Perkins.

The honor marks the second time this season, and the fourth time in his six-year career, that Twellman has claimed the league's goal of the week award.
