Bliss in charge at KSYSA
March 5, 2007

Former Wizards midfielder and head coach, Brian Bliss, has been named director of coaching for Kansas Youth Soccer.

Bliss, a Connecticut native, played for the USA in the 1990 World Cup before his career took him to Germany and ended in MLS with the Kansas City Wizards after a year in New York. The former defender began his coaching career in New England as boss of A-League side, the Connecticut Wolves. Most recently he was interim head coach of the Wizards following the departure of Bob Gansler.

"Bliss will focus on getting the soccer community more involved in coaching and parent education,” a statement read on the KSYSA website. “His first tasks will be to meet with the members of Kansas Youth Soccer and see what steps are needed to elevate the development of youth players and coaches not just in the Kansas City area but statewide.

Kansas Youth Soccer President Alan Blinzler noted:

“Brian's commitment to the development of players is second only to his passion for the game. We are thrilled to have him as part of our team.”
