Two goals in a five-minute first half spell put New England in control. In the 22nd minute, trialist Jorge Ramirez won a corner that Andy Dorman swung into the penalty area. The inswinging service was met at the near post by James Riley, whose header from six yards beat Joe Cannon in the Galaxy goal.
Five minutes later, Joe Franchino took possession from a Jay Heaps throw and found Arsene Oka, who knifed into the penalty area from the right side before launching a bending shot from fifteen yards out that found the top corner of Cannon's net.
After the break, with Steve Nicol having made six changes, Los Angeles began to increasingly push into attacking areas. The Galaxy had two excellent chances early in the second half, with Pete Vagenas denied by Matt Reis and Landon Donovan firing wide after good work by Cobi Jones.
Tyrone Marshall went close when he headed down Donovan's corner, only for Reis to make a reaction save to his left. However, another defender did make the breakthrough in the 59th minute when Chris Albright snapped in a header from a Donovan free-kick that deflected in off Jeff Larentowicz.
After absorbing a period of sustained LA pressure, the Revs regained their two-goal advantage in the 81st minute when Kyle Veris put through his own net from a Larentowicz cross from the right. With Chris Loftus angling in for a header, Veris inadvertently headed the ball past Cannon at the near post.
With the victory, the Revs concluded their first pre-season excursion of 2007 with a 2-0 record, having also defeated the Bermuda National Team, 3-1, on Tuesday evening.
The Revolution will return home on Saturday to train for two weeks before departing on 8 March for a preseason trip to Cancun, Mexico.
