Local quartet on Under-20 duty

USA Under-20 women's head coach, Jillian Ellis, has included four players with New England links to participate in a training camp at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. In total, thirty players have headed to the west coast for a camp that began on Sunday and will run for a week.

The Boston College duo of Gina DiMartino and Kelly Henderson are included after outstanding freshman seasons for the Eagles. DiMartino scored thirteen goals and had five assists on her way to being named ACC Rookie of the Year. Henderson was the Eagles fifth leading scorer with four goals and also had seven assists.

Harvard goalkeeper, Lauren Mann, has been called up after her Ivy League Rookie of the Year season. Mann started all seventeen games and recorded three shutouts for the Crimson with a league-leading 84 saves on the season.

The fourth local name to be called in by Ellis is Kristy Zurmuhlen, Seacoast United's outstanding midfielder, who plays for the New Hampshire side's U-18 side.

The U-20s will play their first international matches of this cycle on a trip to Mexico from Feb. 18-23, facing the full Mexican Women's National Team in two games. The next big tournament for the U-20s is the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Chile.
