Akpan set to lead USA attack again
January 19, 2007
Andre Akpan (Harvard media relations)

Fresh off his debut hat-trick on Wednesday, Harvard University's Andre Akpan will be hoping for his second international cap tonight when the USA's Under-20s continue their qualifying campaign for the 2007 FIFA World Youth Championships against Guatemala in Panama.

Akpan's hat trick was only the third ever by an American player in U-20 qualifying, with he freshman joining Ricky Davis, who scored three goals against the Dominican Republic in a 9-0 win in 1976, and Eddie Gaven, who pulled off the feat in against Trinidad & Tobago in 2005.

Also hoping to feature tonight will be the Revolution's 2007 first-round draft pick, Amaechi Igwe. Fans can follow the game on US Soccer's website.
