December 19, 2006

Michael Parkhurst, who was named the US Soccer federation's 2006 Humanitarian of the Year and is a native of Cranston, RI, spoke to the players about the importance of education and athletics before participating in a training session.

Detective Bozkowski spoke to the Project GOAL participants about the pitfalls and consequences of poor decision making as it pertains to minors within the Rhode Island legal system.

Project GOAL is an after-school initiative that partners with the Central Falls and Providence School Departments. Its mission is to facilitate the development of New England's disadvantaged inner city youth through after-school tutoring, health education, and soccer-related programs.
