Greater Boston enjoy successful weekend
December 12, 2006

FC Greater Boston's U-16 and U-17 boys' sides had successful weekends at the 2006 Nike Friendlies, which were held in Bradenton, FL.

After dropping a 2-1 decision to Neusport on Thursday, the U-17s bounced back the next day with a 2-0 victory over Real Colorado, featuring goals from Chris Roswess and Theo Terris. Roswess had scored in the side's opening day loss and completed an impressive record of scorn in each game on Sunday, when he got the opening strike in a 4-1 win over PDA. Further goals came from Arthur Harris, Michael Bustamante and Theo Terris.

Meanwhile, the U-16s began impressively, with goals from Ashley Barrios, Liam Browne and Charlie Rugg setting up a 3-0 win over Santa Rosa. 24 hours later, Nick Prunier scored on either side of half-time and Rugg added a late third to replicate that score against Irvine SC. Alas, hopes of a 100% weekend were thwarted in the side's third game, in which they lost, 1-0, to their counterparts from Italian giants, Juventus.

Elsewhere at the Friendlies, Scott Caldwell of Braintree, MA, was in action for the USA's U-17s while Taylor Twellman's brother, Jack, and brother-in-law, Quinn Ottwell, lined up for Scott Gallagher's U-17s.
