Double joy for Mariner

Under 12 Girls (MAPLE Red Division)
Mariner posted a decisive 3-0 victory over Inter Bandits SC on Sunday. Mariner created a lot of early pressure and got on the scoreboard within the first five minutes when Sammy Bucknell scored off an assist from Nicole Fusaro. Tori Vargas scored twice more for the Mariner girls to put them up 3-0 at the half.
The Mariner defense took over in the second half, with strong play from Madison Catarius, Andrea Chaput, Katie Wilbur, Morgan Gidley and Sydney DaCosta. Morgan Stott played solid in goal to post the shutout.
Mariner's final match of the fall season will be at home at 3pm on 12 November against Sachem FC.
Under 13 Girls (Maple-D Blue)
Mariner traveled to Millis for a match against Elite SA and prevailed by a score of 4-0 to remain undefeated.
Kadi Souza put Mariner on the scoreboard within the first ten minutes on a well placed shot to the upper corner of the goal. Phoebe Cady notched another goal on a long-distance blast to give Mariner a 2-0 lead at the half.
Alexis Eusebio notched the final two goals in the last ten minutes on well placed shots from outside the box that Allyson Pontes and Gina Georgadarellis assisted on.
Forwards Gabrielle Kondracki, Alex Medeiros and Darian Silva passed the ball well to help Mariner mount a relentless offensive attack deep into Elite SA's defensive end with midfielders, Cali Warner and Laura Bichajian, playing well in support.
Korinna Tsonis, Kendall Fox, Amy Craig, Haley Nisbet and Mollie Beaulieu stopped all offensive attacks initiated by Elite SA. Marissa Ciampi played another great game in goal to help post Mariner's fifth shutout of the season.
On Sunday, Mariner will travel for a 1pm match against South Shore Select.
