Gonzalez and Williams shine for Nats
September 5, 2006

The Revolution's Miguel Gonzalez provided one of the few highlights of the USA Under-20s campaign at the Busan International tournament in South Korea.

After losses to the host nation and eventual champion (0-5) and Slovakia (0-1), Thomas Rongen's side restored some pride with a 3-1 win over Argentina. Josmer Altidore and Dax McCarty scored for the USA, before Gonzalez bent home a free-kick from 25 yards.

Meanwhile, Sheanon Williams, who plays his club soccer as a striker for the Boston Bolts but is a defender for the national side, blasted home an overhead kick against Turkey to help the USA Under-17s secure a 2-2 tie against Turkey in the FA International Tournament in England.

Gonzalez is back with the Revolution this week, while Williams and the Under-17s have moved on to Beaverton, OR, to take part in the Nike National Team Friendlies against Brazil, Mexico and Portugal, beginning on Thursday.
