Half a dozen attend U14 girls' training camp
August 8, 2006
Six New Englanders have recently retuned from the USA Under-14 Girls' National Team Identification Camp, which was held last week at Cal Poly Pomona in Pomona, CA.
Hayley Brock (Acton, MA), Beverly Leon (Wrentham, MA), Samantha Mewis (Hanson, MA), Alexa St. Martin (Westford, MA), Patrice Vettori (Dedham, MA) and Jessica Schloth (Fairfield, CT) gave New England a strong showing in the Region I pool.
The camp kicked off on 30 July and ran through 5 August, with 100 girls - 25 from each of the four regions - taking part in training and games, under the watchful eye of Region II Women's National Team staff coach Mike Dickey, who was assisted by three other WNT staff coaches: Stephanie Gabbert from Region IV, Jeff Pill from Region I and Dave Rubinson from Region II.
The U-14 Girls' ID camp is one several identification processes to evaluate players for the U-15 Girls' National Development Team.
