Red Bulls sign O'Rourke
March 25, 2006

Red Bull New York continued to reshape its roster ahead of the opening of the MLS season on Friday, acquiring one midfielder, Danny O'Rourke of Houston Dynamo, for another, Adrian Serioux.

The fourth overall pick in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft, O'Rourke appeared in 13 games for the Western Conference regular season champion San Jose Earthquakes last season. A four-year standout at Indiana University, the 22-year-old captained the Hoosiers to back-to-back national titles in 2003 and 2004. He also was awarded the Hermann Trophy in 2004. His name had previously been mentioned as part of a potential trade between the Dynamo and Columbus, which was reportedly ready to send Kyle Martino to Texas.

Adrian Serioux was signed by the Red Bulls on March 1 after spending the last two seasons with Millwall of England's Second Division. During his time with Millwall, Serioux appeared in 12 games, along with two appearances in the English Carling Cup. The 6-0, 180-pound native of Scarborough, Ontario made his Canadian National Team debut in a World Cup Qualifier against Guatemala on August 4, 2004. He has totaled eight caps in his international career to date.
